"I turned 40 this year and decided to make it my "year of health". My two goals were to finally get back to my pre-pregnancy weight and to get control of my cholesterol. I have genetic factors affecting my cholesterol, and my cardiologist informed me that diet alone wouldn't cut my cholesterol by 50-60% as I would need to. "I've never dieted before or worked with a nutritionist, but as I was approaching 50 and hitting peri/menopause, the belly weight gain came out of nowhere just like everyone said it would! I was also eating every few hours and always felt hungry- I just never felt satisfied and full.

After consulting with Tara, I knew I had found the right person to work with. Right from the beginning she understood my challenges, explained what my body was going through, and helped me identify what I was lacking and getting too much of in my diet. She created a nutritional plan for me that was easy to follow, gave me great variety in the foods I ate, introduced foods I had stayed away from for years (wrongly!), and was there for every annoying question I had along the way. “I have never gone on "a diet" in my life, and am very opposed to many aspects of diet and wellness culture.  In my first convo w/ Tara I told her that I'm not quitting dairy, wine, or sugary snacks.  Her response? "You shouldn't have to." She wasn't remotely put off by my skepticism, and worked with me to build a plan that worked FOR me, based on my preferences and goals.

I'm a busy working mom of two, and while I love to cook, I have no time for big elaborate meals.  Her recipes are awesome, quick and effective.  I was immediately able to make small changes in breakfast and lunch and snacks, and while dinner was tricky, we worked on it and found ways. “Giving birth to a baby when I was 40+ meant that weight put on during pregnancy was not going to magically work itself out - like it did when I was younger! And spending money on meal plans and fast-acting diets with a lot of rules over the past few years always seemed to implode after a month or two, when the novelty wore off. “I was at a place where I knew I was ready to lose baby/covid weight. But I also knew I needed help to get on the right path. Tara was exactly what I needed. She set up a plan that was strict, yet flexible with choice, and accommodations for food intolerances. She introduced a new way to think about fueling my body that I had really never considered before. With that she introduced certain foods (some that I had never even heard of) that would help lower my carb intake and up my fiber intake. I was never hungry (except maybe before bed, but she recommended a dessert that helped curb a craving). And much of the bloat I had before is gone.
